Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that affect optic nerve health. Traditionally, glaucoma has associated with elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). While IOP control remains the mainstay for glaucoma therapy in the United States today, there have been advances in our understanding and treatment of glaucoma that go far beyond controlling IOP with eye drops. Even with adequate IOP control, glaucoma can become a progressive disease that results in vision loss and blindness for some patients. Vitamin supplementation is an emerging area of interest for glaucoma therapy.
